Norimune • Court of Heavenly Smiths

Clan Name: Norimune
Clan Leader: Sazaku Norimune
Bloodline: Kokata {Metallic Casting}
Village: Yukigakure, Konohagakure, Arechigakure

Clan History: Though the origin of the Norimune clan is shrouded in the depths of history, both it's recent history and it's founding are known to all of those who know the history of the Norimune Clan. A man known as Kyato Norimune was the founding member of the clan, born with an incredible power in which he couldn't believe existed, however he saw the potential in the kekkei genkai that had been granted to him. Kyato was able to form a foreign metallic ore from his body into his bloodstream so that he could call upon it at any time. He found that he could control the metal in any which way he wanted to, however there were many mysteries he did not know about it. He created the Norimune Clan for the few who were like him and founded the beliefs of the clan, that to forge a weapon, one must first know the weapon and then know how to use that weapon. You see, Kyato created a new way to create weapons, by taking the foreign metal in his blood and forging it with his chakra. He created many treasured weapons and expanded the clan's influence with the Shodai Mizukage, establishing a base within Kirigakure.

Under Kyato's leadership, the Clan flourished, and it did so for many more years, however a hundred years after Kyato's reign, things started to change for the worst when the clan's young prodigy Makoto Norimune turned to the side of Otogakure no Sato. She was ordered to slay both Sazaku's father Takashi and himself, and this split the clan in two, one faction siding with Otogakure and one with Kirigakure. The ensuing slaughter by Matoko cause the clan to further shatter, members eventually spreading to all of the great shinobi villages. Sazaku was allowed to live, however he was captured by Otokage, however due to events he ended up becoming the clan head there.

Clan Traits/Characteristics:

Clan Appearance: Norimune clan members always have a silverish-white hair due to a reaction between the hair pigments and their estranged DNA, and their body remains a vanilla color no matter how much they try to tan their bodies, due to the blood lost by forging. Another aspect of each clan number is a birth mark on their bodies, it takes form as a pentagram that forms just above their eye, though it may form above the right or left eye

Clan Personality: The mysterious metal ore that is exclusive to the Norimune clan, it is unknown exactly how or why it came to be. The first of the true Norimune, Kyato Norimune named it Seion due to its faint blue colored hue. Its fully capabilities are unknown, but are actively researched and tested by members of the clan. What they do know however is that it naturally absorbs chakra, leading in part to its natural strength and durability, which is slightly greater then that of titanium. It is due to this extremely non magnetic metal that Norimune made weapons are considered to be among the greatest in the world, and the foundation of the Clan's strength.

Master • The one which is responsible for leading the Norimune, there may be only one master at any given time. The master is the war leader of the clan, leading them into war and combat when called upon and commands great respect. The master is the leader of the council of marquis, he has the authority to allow one to speak or to throw them from the pulpit. His word is absolute, unless it contradicts one of the tenets of clan law.

Lord • Lords are heirs to become the next master and there may be as many as two lords at any given time. Lords undertake a great responsibility as commanders in war and combat and tend to be given greater responsibility than the marquis as they are known to be loyal and dependable to the master.

Marquis • Marquis are nobles born from one of the six great families of the Norimune or who have been appointed to the position (rarely) by a lord or the master. Marquis are responsible for governing the council and bringing new laws into court.

Noble • The common folk of the Norimune, nobles are those who contribute to the clan however they weren't born into one of the six families of the Norimune. They join the lords in war and combat and are responsible for themselves and their craft.

Bloodline Description: Seion {Serene} • This mysterious metal ore is exclusive to the Norimune Clan and while it is unknown exactly how or why it came to be, the ore flows throughout the Norimune's body in a liquid form. The first of the true Norimune, Kyato Norimune named it Seion due to its faint blue colored hue and the serenity that he felt when he first layed eyes on this metal. Seion's full list of properties are unknown, however the Norimune actively research and test the material, and what is known is that Seion naturally absorbs chakra leading in part to its natural strength and durability, and that it is non-magnetic. Seion weapons are always a cut above the quality standard of most weapons and simply give a slight advantage against non-Seion items of the same rank.

Bloodline Limits:

Name: Kokata (Metallic Casting)
Requirements: At Creation
Description: Devised by the old master Kyato Norimune during the birth of the clan, Kotaka is the primary form of molding and casting for the Norimune. Though there are other limits which further refine the base line, one must have a basis for refinement. Kotaka is the casting of the Seion which flows throughout their body into physical form, using pressurization and chakra casting to forge the material into an item. This item always counts as a general item of (shinobi's) rank though is limited to A-rank items. The size of items created in such way are determined by the shinobi's rank, with stronger shinobi casting better and larger items. These items do not have to be applied for, however they only carry the base traits of said item and are not special in any way. Due to the particular form in which these weapons have been made, they cost chakra equal to the rank of the item for their creation. Norimune cannot be considered full mature adults until they have shown their Kotaka (Metallic Casting), one of two trademark abilities which make up the Norimune Kekkei Genkai.

Name: Norou Kokei (Cursed Seeing)
Requirements: At Creation
Description: Borne during the era of Kyato Norimune, the pentagram which lies above the dominant eye is a genetic trait of the clan in the current day and age. The pentagram is a curse seal that when activated creates some sort of lens around the eye - the appearance of this lens seems to change from subject to subject, however it always originates from the curse seal. Despite the rumours about the nature of the curse seals as an evil art, this particular seal was created with the intention of enhancing the Norimune further via the lens' particular ability. Norimune who use the lens are given to a high-detail view. They are instantly able to determine the rank, materials, and properties of the item and can divine the identity of the owner so long as they have interacted with the person before. The Norimune may also sense all the Seion within an area of 100 meters around them. This, of course, includes other members of the Norimune Clan, due to Seion being as much a part of their blood as their body, however doing so requires the Norimune to expend c-rank chakra each round this ability is used.

Name: Eye for Talent
Requirements: Kokata, C-Rank
Description: As master smiths and connoisseurs of craftsmenship, the Norimune make and wield weapons as both a way of war as well as an art form. As such, they are always on the lookout for ideas and inspiration, seeing them in almost everything. More importantly, however, they are always interested in works of other smiths. Norimune also aren't too proud to copy the details of and reproduce things that they see, in an attempt to understand just how it was made and use that technique for themselves. As such, when a Norimune examines a weapon, they gain a perfect understanding of the weapon as well as it's nature. This includes how it works and what it's name is. If they hold the weapon and study it (length set below), they are then able to copy it in the future, making their own version. This can be used to copy a weapon equivalent to their rank, and this cannot be used to copy artifacts or unique weapons.

Name: Kaneke (Metal Trace)
Requirements: Eye for Talent, Two Point per Alloy
Description: One of Seion's greatest features is it's adaptability, something that can be taken advantage of in most situations. While most clan-members focus upon the hardness of Seion as well as it's chakra-channeling abilities, a select few have the sight to realize there is more. Through a specialized technique developed by this niche', the Norimune can imbue the Seion with the effects of other metals while not detracting from the core abilities Seion possesses in a process called 'Trace'. Trace can only be used to mimic a single ability into any given weapon and increases the chakra cost of weapon creation further by one rank. For each rank trained, one more ability can be traces, however a sword with a chakra-based ability such as from Tensa Saisei can not have more than a single ability, and only one alloy per weapon.
  • Silverite • Silverite is the bane of undead, shape-shifters and abominations as wounds burn and have difficulty healing. If a clan/ability has a weakness to silver, it acts as silver.
  • Mithral • Items crafted from Mithral tend to be extremely balanced and very light, weighing 50% less than normal, and hold a shiny glare.
  • Obscurum • Items crafted from Obscurum are heavier than others, weighing 100% more than normal and are a matte black hue.
  • Crystain • Crystain is an unusual alloy which ignore the flow of chakra on it's surface, allowing it 'cut' through chakra at the cost of the ninjutsu used.
  • Elementum • Items crafted from Elementum are exceptionally attuned to the elements and have properties dealing with a particular element.
  • Alterium • Items crafted from Alterium are quirky little items, as the shift with the wearer if shapeshifting/using unusual physiology.
  • Wyrmsilk • The most exquisite silk found within the five great countries, Wyrmsilk is a luxurious material that provides the greatest levels of comfort.
Name: Tensa Saisei (Divine Craftsmanship Variations)
Requirements: Kokata, Kaneke, Eight Point Training & Three per Weapon
Description: Revered as the greatest form of craftsmanship for any Norimune to behold and only ever learned by the best of the Norimune, Tensa Saisei was the first kekkei genkai which truly earned the respect for the Norimune as the court of heavenly smiths. With the limitations of Kokata being rather slim in imagination, a Norimune who uses this Kekkei Genkai may craft items of up to S rank with weapons with size constraints literally doubled from Kokata (from 6-7ft to 12-14ft). Items created via Tensa Saisei may add special abilities and effects as well as elemental affinity. The limit has one 'downside' that prevents it from being a good application upon the battlefield, and that is that an investment of time into the craft of the blade is required (depending on rank), however this is not a true downside, just a slight caveat.

Name: Ko Sennin (Sage of Metal)
Requirements: Tensa Saisei, Five Point Training
Description: Not to be confused with the Sennin, Ko Sennin are known as visionaries and perfectionists among the Norimune clan and have been responsible for crafting many treasured weapons beheld by the Five Great countries. The first Ko Sennin (Sage of Metal) was Kyato Norimune who was the clan's founder and responsible for the fame which the Norimune clan hold. His art of 'Perfect Craftsmanship' is still known as beyond the skill of any other Norimune since his time until only recently. The title of 'Ko Sennin' along with the secrets of Kyato Norimune are said to have been buried with him. Many have sought the tomb of Kyato over the generations, however none have succeeded until now. It seems that Kyato's secrets weren't so much secrets as the process of lucky genetic changes. Those who have inherited the genes have inherited these abilities. Ko Sennin bear a legendary connection to the Seion ore and it's many alloys much like a Sennin bears a legendary connection to Nature chakra. As such, the distance of manipulation allowed for Meimei Eda related jutsu are doubled. If the Sage of Metal already possessed Kaneke (or gain it after), they gain one free rank of the ability.

Name: Kanzen Shokunin (Perfect Craftsmansip)
Requirements: Ko Sennin, Ten Point Training & Ten per Weapon, Limit Five Items
Description: It is said that Kyato Norimune was unique for his ability to reach true perfection in his path, and while his method of artifact creation may be lost for all time, select few norimune are genetically born with the same genome as Kyato himself, known as Lord of Metallurgy. The few who reach this pinacle of creative power can reach further with seion manipulation and weapon forging than before. Lords of Metallurgy may forge wondrous items which go beyond S Rank (Unique), and hold artifact-level effects. This takes up an artifact slot as the rules dictate for the creator - or if made for someone else, takes up a slot for them (to be announced in the training thread.) Forging such a weapon comes at great cost in the form of training which must be undertaken per item, and each item must be unique. These weapons are made with the following abilities: they may create an item with twin elements or combo/special element, they may create an item with a special property such as chakra absorption or the ability to change shape, or they may create their weapon with a special ability such as freezing an opponent or sending arcs of wind with each slash out to 30ft.

Name: Relinquish the Gift
Type: Ninjutsu
Rank: D
Requirements: Norimune Bloodline
Description: Norimunes have found that giving the gift of weapon is harder than it seems as any Norimune may try to claim the weapon believing it to be stolen. As such, this simple technique was developed in order to relinquish the control a Norimune holds over a seion-forged weapon. When this jutsu has been used on a weapon, any form of seion detection simply doesn't work on it (however the appraise ability of the cursed seal still works), and the norimune may not reclaim the blade by using the Vanquish the Bonds jutsu.

Name: Kuchiyose: Norimune Vault
Type: Ninjutsu
Rank: C (Kin)
Requirements: Norimune, Tensa Saisei
Description: This jutsu is quite simple. By creating a drop of blood/Seion the user can summon any weapon any Norimune has ever created as long as the user meets the requirements to wield it, and he creator of said weapon has put it in the "vault". This helps with storage of the many pieces of work a Norimune creates through their lifetime. (Every weapon/item must be created IC)

Name: Meimei Eda (Invisible Hand)
Type: Ninjutsu
Rank: C
Requirements: Norimune Bloodline
Description: Norimune Members may utilize their chakra and through their connection to the seion in their blood, move a single weapon that they have created without touching it, as if the article is grasped by an unseen hand. This technique can be only used upon a single weapon at a time and can not move more then four feet from them.

Name: Nexus
Type: Ninjutsu
Rank: C
Requirements: Norimune Bloodline
Description: Concentrating upon their innate connection with the Seion, the user is able to call upon weaponry constructed by themselves, back to themselves within the same turn as jutsu is used and able to be used reflexively to guard. This technique may only be used upon three weapons at once and they may be called from no further than one-hundred feet away. This jutsu may also be used to 'pull' a single weapon back to them, in which case it flies into the grasp of their hand. Using this form can pose a threat to an untrained or distracted practitioner and is less commonly used in the heat of combat.

Name: Sho Meimei Eda (Many Invisible hands)
Type: Ninjutsu
Rank: A
Requirements: Norimune Bloodline, Meimei Eda
Description: Utilizing the basic principles of the jutsu Meimei Eda, the Norimune expands upon them by being able to manipulate multiple weaponry by their invisible hands, however this only applies to weaponry created by themselves. These weapons can not move more than seven feet from the practitioner and the number of weaponry manipulated depends on the rank of the practitioner.

Name: Seki no Maki (Gates of Hell)

Requirements: Nexus
Description: A more advanced application of the jutsu Nexus which allows the use to call upon up to ten weapons or 'pull' upon up to four weapons created by themselves. Due to the intense concentration required as compared to Nexus, the practitioner is only able to pull weaponry from up to fifty feet away without risking distraction. (which could lead to impalement, death, and other such nasty things.)

Name: Ryoko Kizuna (Traverse to Bonds)
Type: Ninjutsu
Rank: A
Requirements: Nexus
Description: Ryoko Kizuna (Traverse to Bonds) is a technique which focuses on zeroing in on a particular item within an area radius of one-hundred feet and moving to that item within an instant, traveling with high-speed movement similar to shunshin no jutsu. The practitioner is immediately slowed to a full halt once reaching the chosen item and cannot perform any violent action for the rest of the post in which the jutsu is used.

Name: Ten Kouken (Heavenly Guardian)
Type: Ninjutsu-Genjutsu
Rank: S
Requirements: Seki no Makai; Sho Meimei Eda
Description: Perhaps the most advanced upon the non-restricted Norimune jutsu, Ten Kouken further builds upon the foundations of manipulating one's weapons that were established and taught to them via Seki no Makai and Sho Meimei Eda. Calling upon every weapon that has been constructed by them within a radius of one hundred meters to their location, the weaponry then proceeds to hover around the practitioner, forming a complete barrier which prevents damage from most ninjutsu and taijutsu. (Up to A-Rank.) Once this has been accomplished, control of the weapons return to the user and he may control them with hand movements, increasing speed and reaction time in comparison to normal hand usage. In addition, the blades may dissipate when dormant while hovering around the user still, due to a genjutsu.

Name: Joumon no Babylon (Gates of Babylon)
Type: Ninjutsu
Rank: S (Kin)
Requirements: Ko Sennin, Ten Kouken, Kuchiyose: Norimune Vault
Description: While the Sennin have their Senjutsu, the Ko Sennin have known for their rather blatant magnum opus which turns the treasure of the Norimune into an AC-130 air strike known since the great and illustrious Kyato Norimune himself. The trademark of the Joumon no Babylon is the massive gate of golden light which activates a link to the Norimune Vault. The practitioner may then take one copy of any weapon/item that was ever held within his vault whether it is no longer there or has been destroyed - creating an imprint for each weapon in this manner. This may only be done once per item, and up to fourty such items appears hilt-first within the shimmering golden gate . At this point the practitioner may draw any of the weapons within the gate at will. The more well-known use of the gate is releasing the imprinted weapons pointy end forwards. These weapons not only deal the damage of said weapon but also quite literally explode with the force of an explosive tag. This technique can only release one weapon per imprint (you cannot fire two of the same weapons) per round, with further limitations seen below.

The first Ko Sennin (Sage of Metal) was Kyato Norimune who was the clan's founder and responsible for the fame which the Norimune clan hold. His art of 'Perfect Craftsmanship' is still known as beyond the skill of any other Norimune since his time until only recently. The title of 'Ko Sennin' along with the secrets of Kyato Norimune are said to have been buried with him. Many have sought the tomb of Kyato over the generations, however none have succeeded until now. It seems that Kyato's secrets weren't so much secrets as the process of lucky genetic changes. Those who have inherited the genes have inherited these abilities. Ko Sennin bear a legendary connection to the Seion ore and it's many alloys much like a Sennin bears a legendary connection to Nature chakra. As such, the distance of manipulation allowed for Meimei Eda related jutsu are doubled. If the Sage of Metal already possessed Kaneke (or gain it after), they gain one free rank of the ability.

[b]Description:[/b]  It is said that Kyato Norimune was unique for his ability to reach true perfection in his path, and while his method of artifact creation may be lost for all time, select few norimune are genetically born with the same genome as Kyato himself, known as Lord of Metallurgy. The few who reach this pinacle of creative power can reach further with seion manipulation and weapon forging than before. Lords of Metallurgy may forge wondrous items which go beyond S Rank (Unique), and hold artifact-level effects. This takes up an artifact slot as the rules dictate for the creator - or if made for someone else, takes up a slot for them (to be announced in the training thread.) Forging such a weapon comes at great cost in the form of training which must be undertaken per item, and each item must be unique. These weapons are made with the following abilities: they may create an item with twin elements or combo/special element, they may create an item with a special property such as chakra absorption or the ability to change shape, or they may create their weapon with a special ability such as freezing an opponent or sending arcs of wind with each slash out to 30ft.

[b]Description:[/b] Norimunes have found that giving the gift of weapon is harder than it seems as any Norimune may try to claim the weapon believing it to be stolen. As such, this simple technique was developed in order to relinquish the control a Norimune holds over a seion-forged weapon. When this jutsu has been used on a weapon, any form of seion detection simply doesn't work on it (however the appraise ability of the cursed seal still works), and the norimune may not reclaim the blade by using the Vanquish the Bonds jutsu.

[b]Description:[/b] This jutsu is quite simple. By creating a drop of blood/Seion the user can summon any weapon any Norimune has ever created as long as the user meets the requirements to wield it, and he creator of said weapon has put it in the "vault". This helps with storage of the many pieces of work a Norimune creates through their lifetime. (Every weapon/item must be created IC)

Description: Norimune Members may utilize their chakra and through their connection to the seion in their blood, move a single weapon that they have created without touching it, as if the article is grasped by an unseen hand. This technique can be only used upon a single weapon at a time and can not move more then four feet from them.

[b]Description:[/b] Concentrating upon their innate connection with the Seion, the user is able to call upon weaponry constructed by themselves, back to themselves within the same turn as jutsu is used and able to be used reflexively to guard. This technique may only be used upon three weapons at once and they may be called from no further than one-hundred feet away. This jutsu may also be used to 'pull' a single weapon back to them, in which case it flies into the grasp of their hand. Using this form can pose a threat to an untrained or distracted practitioner and is less commonly used in the heat of combat.

[b]Description:[/b] A more advanced application of the jutsu Nexus which allows the use to call upon up to ten weapons or 'pull' upon up to four weapons created by themselves. Due to the intense concentration required as compared to Nexus, the practitioner is only able to pull weaponry from up to fifty feet away without risking distraction. (which could lead to impalement, death, and other such nasty things.)

[b]Description:[/b] Ryoko Kizuna (Traverse to Bonds) is a technique which focuses on zeroing in on a particular item within an area radius of one-hundred feet and moving to that item within an instant, traveling with high-speed movement similar to shunshin no jutsu. The practitioner is immediately slowed to a full halt once reaching the chosen item and cannot perform any violent action for the rest of the post in which the jutsu is used.

[b]Description:[/b] Perhaps the most advanced upon the non-restricted Norimune jutsu, Ten Kouken further builds upon the foundations of manipulating one's weapons that were established and taught to them via Seki no Makai and Sho Meimei Eda. Calling upon every weapon that has been constructed by them within a radius of one hundred meters to their location, the weaponry then proceeds to hover around the practitioner, forming a complete barrier which prevents damage from most ninjutsu and taijutsu. (Up to A-Rank.) Once this has been accomplished, control of the weapons return to the user and he may control them with hand movements, increasing speed and reaction time in comparison to normal hand usage. In addition, the blades may dissipate when dormant while hovering around the user still, due to a genjutsu.

[b]Description:[/b] While the Sennin have their Senjutsu, the Ko Sennin have known for their rather blatant magnum opus which turns the treasure of the Norimune into an AC-130 air strike known since the great and illustrious Kyato Norimune himself. The trademark of the Joumon no Babylon is the massive gate of golden light which activates a link to the Norimune Vault. The practitioner may then take one copy of any weapon/item that was ever held within his vault whether it is no longer there or has been destroyed - creating an imprint for each weapon in this manner. This may only be done once per item, and up to fourty such items appears hilt-first within the shimmering golden gate . At this point the practitioner may draw any of the weapons within the gate at will. The more well-known use of the gate is releasing the imprinted weapons pointy end forwards. These weapons not only deal the damage of said weapon but also quite literally explode with the force of an explosive tag. This technique can only release one weapon per imprint (you cannot fire two of the same weapons) per round, with further limitations seen below.[LIST]
